| Don’t miss this special exhibit before it travels to the Smithsonian Museum of Art in Washington, DC! Come along with us to the Huntington Estate in San Marino for an outstanding special exhibit showcasing the Arts & Crafts style of architecture, and take a guided tour through one of the finest examples of this style, the famed Gamble House in Pasadena. A “New and Native” Beauty: The Art and Craft of Greene & Greene features approximately 140 objects from the collections of The Huntington, the Gamble House and other private and institutional lenders. Included in the exhibit are examples of beautifully inlaid furniture, artfully executed metalwork, luminous art glass windows, light fixtures and other items, many of which have never before been seen in public. Your excursion begins with a guided tour of the Gamble House in Pasadena which, along with its furnishings, were designed by Charles and Henry Greene in 1908 for David and Mary Gamble of the Procter and Gamble Company. Later, we’ll travel to the Huntington Estate and Gardens where you’ll be free to enjoy lunch on your own, tour the special exhibit and other works of art, and stroll through the expansive botanical and specialty gardens at this magnificent estate. |
